Yesterday we got an extra truck
. Only catch in this matter is we just got a truck on Monday, so our stock room was full to the tilt. Our fault was we were moving shelfs, we can get the products out in the correct areas.
Currently we are rearranging the store. We do not have night stockers. We stock when the store is open, we move the products when the store is open ... & we apologize to the customers all the time I was there! They are great about it, because they know the more we get truck the more choice they will have. They are very accepting about it, & find it like a treasure hunt ... it's pretty cute, to be honest.
Yesterday, it was more like a treasure hunt, because we had to put this truck on the floor
... 4 of us unloading the truck. I got the fun of running in & out of the truck, & stacking the boxes. Lets just say I got one serious work out. The best part is that we got this truck done in under 2 hours!!!! Which means we didn't have to pay the extra $200 an hour for keeping truck there. I told Mary that I wanted to be up in the truck from now on because I can deal with that, it wasn't that hard ... & I think we did good with getting those boxes out.
The truck we has on Monday it took us 3 hours to get out ... which means it cost us extra money.
Plus we had an employee walk off cause he couldn't handle working fast enough. Please, get over it ... if all the women can work faster than you can get on the ball. He didn't even tell us he was leaving, he just walked -- what a chicken. There was a lot of mouth running from one employee, & she wasn't doing much of nothing to help us. Yet she expected us to move a lot faster while she sat & did nothing!
Now this little red head's temper when off that day ... I wanted to blow. It took a lot to control everything. Unfortunaletly, I can mumble really low.
But I don't care about that ... the 4 of us kicked ass yesterday! We got the truck out on the in under 2 hours yesterday ... and that is what counts the most. We got a lot of it off the floor before I left yesterday, and that is another plus. I was loving life yesterday because of it. It has been along time since we have gotten a truck out in less than in under 2 hours! I was shocked that I got to go up in the truck ... but I am hoping that I get to do that more often now. Unloading a truck is damn easy ... Mary is afraid that I will get hurt up in there. But we got those boxes out of there fast, it was good! When I was out of the truck, we got those boxes stacked & moved fast ... the other two girls are outstanding.
They has to continue stacking boxes coming out of the truck ... both were extremely red faced when this was over. They had to keep up with the speed of the boxes, and they were doing great. We have 3 types of boxes; regular, green tag & blue tag. They had to seperate them in to areas. Which meant they had to run in 2 areas because green & blue can be up together & regularn down a seperate area. Those two women where working so hard I am amazed we didn't get the truck out sooner. Had they had one more person we would have ... unfortunately no one showed up until AFTER they truck was done & gone. (Of course.)
In my opinion, the 3 women I work with on the truck yesterday where outstanding. They did an amazing job. Those are the ones who should always do the truck ... and only one other should be included. No offense to any one, but they prove that team work is what we do have. That is what the store should have.
On a side note, when 2 other parties showed up ... some of us were couldn't wait to leave. That should tell you some thing.
After all ... we still managed to an amazing job.
